What’s that you say? Oh crazy beagles!?!?! I can now listen to the whole Slobberbone Discography on Spotify. It’s true. Now I’ve got Slobberbone in my truck, at my friends’ parties, in the woods, on the boat, even in my old man’s truck. Technology: use it. But don’t be a blowhorn, go buy some hard copies as well.
According to Halden Wofford & the Hi*Beams “just because you ain’t a sinner don’t mean that you’re a saint!” I concur with this statement, dig the story below. I found out about these ruckus raising foot stompers by going to a record store in Boulder that was in a few double wides. The people in the shop were good people and had an outstanding collection but Halden Wofford & the Hi Beams was the best thing I walked out with that given day!
Watch the The Turkey Buzzards play a little anthem for all those good gals out there that take care of their hard living men. I would especially like to give a shout out to my weeble, love ya! Check out their full LP “Hobos Don’t Call It Camping’ to take in a few more stories these fellas have orchestrated for our listening pleasure.
Indulge America, this is The Devil’s Cut. Drink it in and enjoy the familiar comfort of the burn. These gents from Lansing fucking let the kick drum lead the march of sin… it goes something like 1,2…get the fuck outta our way. It reminds me of the feeling I get when I pull up to a field only to see trucks equally as shitty as mine with a pallet fire that stands 6-9 feet tall with nothing but trouble minded fools standing around it. The tempo seems like an addiction to the group, just sucking the everything outta everyone to keep the song progressing to a more desperate state. It might feel uncomfortable from the outside but sip up motherfucker and enjoy the life, these gents seem like they do.
The Minus 5’s ‘Down With Wilco: A Tragedy In Three Halfs’ is one of my favorite LPs. It is bathed in catchy refrains with harmonies that melt the ears. If you can get your hands on this gem, throw down your loot, then send yepROC Records, Scott McCaughey, Peter Buck, Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche, and Leroy Bach a thank you note. Just the way they get down at the end of ‘Where Will You Go’ and then transition into ‘Life Left Him’ is worth your scratch. You may ask yourself what’s my reward for seeking out this musical treasure? Your kid will someday thank you for having such excellent taste when you kick the can.
You know those rock n’ roll riffs that shake your heart and slow down time? Well, DATURA4’s new LP is staked with those tasty riffs layered with some gnarly lyrics. Get it at friends!
Check out this roll licking tasty joint. Pick up their 7″ ‘Howlin” via Phuzz Records. Literally do it, otherwise our kids will end up with soul deflating music. You want to carry that load on your back your whole life?
